Budapest is a city of thermal baths, dramatic bridges, and a remarkably intact historic centre that makes every walk feel like an adventure. It's also one of Europe's most affordable capitals for families.

Budapest's Palatinus Strand on Margaret Island is the city's summer beach playground — thermal pools, slides, and sun loungers all in one. Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden in Városliget is excellent, as is the Csodák Palotája (Palace of Miracles) hands-on science museum. The Széchenyi Baths give children a unique thermal pool experience.
